High volume flows in the commercial sector

emcoair swirl diffusers

High volume flows in the commercial sector

It was only with swirl diffusers that it became possible to bring high air volume flows into commercial settings and, with them, to remove high thermal loads.

Swirl diffusers can solve practically every task presented by air conditioning in the commercial and industrial sectors. Their flat, highly inductive horizontal jet, with rapid temperature and speed reduction, ensures that the comfort requirements in occupied areas can be met even with high cooling loads and low ceiling heights.

Perfectly integrated

emcoair ceiling air diffusers

Perfectly integrated

With its ceiling air diffusers, emcoklima has developed products that can be perfectly integrated into the ceilingscape thanks to their function and construction. And measurements can often be adapted to suit the installation location. The required flow types can be achieved with either factory pre-settings or a motorised adjustment.

In the different application cases, patented air control elements and/or systems ensure both sufficient horizontal air throws and vertical penetration depths, and low sound power levels. In particularly demanding cases, our flow lab is at your side to work out the best possible solutions using airflow tests and flow simulations.

Patented eccentric rotors and free choice of colours

emcoair slot diffusers

Patented eccentric rotors and free choice of colours

The patented emco eccentric rotor forms the core of our slot diffusers. If desired, every individual rotor element can be supplied in a pre-defined setting, readable on the drum. This not only guarantees maximum comfort but also saves time-consuming adjustment work.

The optional motorised adjustment means the module can be used in both cooling and heating applications, making the emcoair SAL stand out from conventional slot diffusers through its innovation. Our in-house developments in the field of slot diffusers ensure that our models can be harmoniously integrated into any building structure. A free choice of colours for the slot profile and drum body rounds off the emcoair range of slot diffusers perfectly.

Diffusers as a design element in visible areas

emcoair circular pipe diffusers

Diffusers as a design element in visible areas

Architects want ventilation systems to be either integrated completely invisibly or to be explicitly visible. Because of this, emcoklima has developed the circular pipe air system – because, with this system, thanks to the extensive range of materials and surface colours available, the ventilation plant can be integrated in visible areas with a circular pipe diffuser system configured in practically any way you want.

The air volumes come out precisely where they are needed, and penetrate exactly as far into the space as the emco engineers have planned them to. And, if the pipes are to be used for heating, cooling and ventilation from any significant height, they can be fitted with an additional motorised adjustment, to differentiate the jet control between cooling and heating applications.

Exceptionally uniform flow profile

emcoair displacement flow diffusers

Exceptionally uniform flow profile

For primary airflow systems, displacement flow diffusers are the current trend: their laminar supply-air delivery over large entry surfaces means that the air conditioning can be neither heard nor felt. The pool of fresh air created in the space means that natural heat sources, such as human beings, can directly draw in fresh air from the surrounding area.

If high thermal loads arise, emcoair displacement flow diffusers can be combined with emcocool chilled ceiling systems.

Efficiently ventilate large industrial buildings

emcoair industrial diffusers

Efficiently ventilate large industrial buildings

In the course of a research project carried out by the BMFT (the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research), funding code 01 HK 216, a ventilation model was developed that has since become the standard in industrial ventilation. In it, layer ventilation balances the flows of hot air transported away from the occupied areas with fresh air. As a result, entirely favourable workplace conditions are created with low supply-air rates.

On the other hand, in large buildings with little or no pollution loads, such as events centres and assembly areas, higher installation points and vertical penetration depths are required.

The family of emcoair industrial diffusers means that you can choose the most suitable air outlet for each individual case in the industrial sector.

Uniform air distribution in spaces with high ceilings

emcoair wide-angle nozzles

Uniform air distribution in spaces with high ceilings

Wide-angle nozzles ensure exceptionally uniform air distribution in spaces with high ceilings. With adjustable wide-angle nozzles, both the air throw (depth penetration) and the area coverage (effective area) can be adjusted to your particular situation. This means that the transmission heat requirement is significantly lower than with conventional air heating.

Depending on the height of the building, the use of wide-angle nozzles can lead to significant energy savings. These advantages are enhanced by others, for example low running costs and flexible adaptation options for the air supply.

Supply and return air combined in a single system

emcoair combination air diffusers

Supply and return air combined in a single system

In building services engineering, every large-scale project is different – there is no secret recipe. A building's heat loads are dissipated using a variety of approaches, such as central, decentralised, water ducting, or air-only systems. Meanwhile, sophisticated exterior and interior architecture always represents a considerable challenge for the planning engineer.

It often makes sense to integrate the products into the building structure or the furnishings. Equally, it can be useful to combine the supply- and return-air feed in a single product or even to provide a sound-absorbing plenum box to reduce the crosstalk. emco has developed combination air diffusers for precisely such cases, and they can also be used in drywalls.

Maximum space utilisation

emcoair floor diffusers

Maximum space utilisation

Customers want the greatest possible flexibility in space utilisation – this is where emcoair floor diffusers come in. The fresh, warm or cold air can be delivered with either a floor plenum or a pipe connection. In either case, widely different technologies inside the products ensure a speedy reduction in flow speeds and temperature differences until the comfort level is reached.

In addition to modern office areas, floor diffusers are also used in large theatres, cinemas or events halls. Their use not only ensures high air quality in the occupied areas but also the greatest possible free space for technical equipment in the ceiling area, and the lowest possible energy consumption.

Protection and noise reduction

emcoair valves and controllers

Protection and noise reduction

In order for air conditioning systems to offer superior, consistent comfort with the lowest possible energy consumption, air volume flows must be precisely distributed through the building and securely partitioned off in case of fire. Additionally, when these systems are used, the air feed can be planned from the beginning so that laborious and costly adjustment work can be avoided at start-up.
